From the Chief Editor’s Desk
Greetings!
Hope all of you are fine and well during the tryst with COVID-19 pandemic which is far from over. The demographer’s community made extraordinary effort to understand the pandemic using models and innovative techniques, and a special issue on COVID-19 and its demographic impact was published in July which was well received.
As we are gradually moving out of the pandemic, this issue of Demography India presents business as usual consisting of twelve articles and one book review. It covers issues like contraceptive use and unmet needs, mortality and life table, non-communicable diseases and health services, rural to urban migration, return migration and tourist flows, and concern for falling female work participation in India. We hope the papers published in this volume would be fascinating to the readers. We take this opportunity to thank our authors and many reviewers, Dr U.V. Somayajulu, President, IASP, Dr V.K. Tiwari, General Secretary for their support, and Dr Harihar Sahoo for managing the Journal very sincerely and meticulously. We sincerely welcome any suggestions and comments to improve the Journal.
